NTC stands for “Negative Temperature Coefficient”. NTC thermistors are resistors with a negative temperature coefficient, which means that the resistance decreases with increasing temperature. They are primarily used as resistive temperature sensors and current-limiting devices.
NTC's are linear reactive components which can work steadily between – 300 C° ile +50 C°.
These thermistors are widely used in home appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, boilers, washing machines, dishwashers, dryers and also in small home appliances and automobiles.
PTC stands for "Positive Temperature Coefficient“. PTC thermistors are resistors with a positive temperature coefficient, which means that the resistance increases with increasing temperature. They are used in temperature measurement devices and TVs.
